4/8/13 Amsterdam day 2

I'm outside a Diamond Factory & Museum & this Clog was begging to be sat in. We were all disappointed that they didn't give diamond samples out on the tour...I know that it would pull much larger crowds.

A walk through the flower market is a must...it's just gorgeous. Beautiful flower stalls on one side hugging one of the canals & eateries on the other side looking at the view.

I saw heaps of flowers I knew & just as many that I didn't know.

They have bulbs & seeds of every description for flowers & fruit...& guess what...they have heaps of tulip bulbs, go figure?

More bulbs...same same, but different.

Look at the bottom left hand corner of the photo...they even have 'bulb-o-can' (my word, not theirs).

The stalls go on for a whole city block & the displays just make you want to buy it all...but we didn't.
So we split up again & I did some walking sightseeing. Amsterdam is a very crowded place but it has such a good vibe...you sort of don't mind wandering around like a herd of lost cows.

All that walking gets a girl thirsty & I'm not the only one to think that. I met these two great people over a couple of cold ones & some crowd watching. Les & Therese are from England & they have an old (1976 I think) Ford Escort that they are doing 15 countries in 15 days to raise money for some very worthy causes...amazing! Anyway we just clicked & chatted for ages (not like me to do that)? They are also blogging & so we will all star in each others blogs. Good luck guys & please stay in touch.

Ok...so now I'm running a little bit late for a dinner date with the boys & to make matters worse, I got on the right Metro...but it was going the wrong way. This is Marco...SuperMarco to me! I showed him the address & in a flash he was peddling like a mad man, zipping in & out of traffic, dodging bikes & pedestrians to get me to the church on time.

It's a great way to get around town & Marco had me laughing at all his antics. Here's your daily selfie.

The restaurant is called Mouters (Mothers) & they serve traditional Dutch style food. We had to book but it was worth it, the food is simple & delicious. The walls are covered in photos of mothers...1,000's of them (they are even on the walls of the toilet)!

I was not going to have dessert...then they told me that their specialty is their home made Dutch ice-cream...what's a girl to do...yes, I gave in...the devil made me do it & I loved it too.  Please notice that there are 2 of them...it seems the devil swayed more than just me.

So we decided to walk off our 'Devil food' & headed back to the Red Light District.
Rahhh...who's the king of the jungle!

The things you can do & buy here is mind boggling...a Coffee Shop that sells herbal energisers, stimulants, magic truffles (mushrooms), Bulldog seeds (whatever they are) & I think they even sell coffee?!

Just in case you were having withdrawals...I found a Castle, so I took a photo for you...don't say that I don't think of all you guys out there in blog land!
