20/7/13 Barcelona

We are using the sightseeing buses to get around. You can get on & off them all day or just ride around listening to the audio tour.

They have some very interesting architecture with the most famous of them being Gaudi. The middle house is made to look like a dragon & the roof tiles are hand painted to look like the scales.

This is a hotel & there are no square corners anywhere. Even the doors & windows are odd shapes.
Barcelona is a very clean city too. We were warned about pick pockets but didn't see a one.

So you want to buy a car...you want the one on the left or the one on the right, you want black or white. We have hundreds...no sorry 2 to choose from? So how do they get them out?

All Barcelona taxi's are black & yellow...& there are hundreds of them, all clean & ding free. They looked like a swarm of bumble bees racing around & calling in to the different pick up spots instead of flowers.

Interesting...this person is dressed as a goat, sitting on the footpath hoping the passing traffic will put Euro in his bucket? He didn't do anything, just sat under the sheet? Not sure how that's going to pay?

Barcelona is a beautiful city.

This is the torch that held the flame that Barcelona hosted for the 1992 Olympics. They still utilise the facilities that were built for the games & there were a number of swimming meets on during our stay.

One of the street sculptures that litter the city.

A pitstop for a quick bite & then it's back on the bus.

This is Ruth & Jerry from England who are having a long weekend mini break in Spain. Amazing story, I started chatting to them (stop laughing) & they told us their funny antics while trying to get away. Lost wallets, forgotten luggage, missed flights & expired passports & they're both still together @ alive...they must really be in love.
