As we are driving all day, there won't be photos. So I'm going to tell you a little about the camping facilities we have come across. Toilets - toilet seats are a luxury. Most are uni-sex... Urinals are out in the open & sometimes outside in the open. They do not supply toilet paper. They have a lot of squats - holes in the ground & the plush ones have places to put your feet. Andrew loves theses , Nick & I hate them.
They often have basins in lockable cubicles so that you can brush your hair or clean your teeth in private (unlike the toilets)? Otherwise they are communal again & out in the open.
Showers range from lockable cubicles, cubicles with shower curtains or see through curtains (they were fun). Sometimes you have to pay with Euro, or tokens - most have very short timers & the most fun one was one that used tokens (outside the shower block), you had to choose the hot water & if you ran out of water, you had to throw a towel around you (suds & all) to put another token in?
All in all it's been a learning experience & when I get home, I'm going to stand under a hot shower for as long as I like & I'm going to relax when I go to the toilet & not worry about toilet paper & listening to all the noises of the other campers...it will be heaven!
We camped overnight about an hour south of Bordeaux & will get there early tomorrow.
